As we wrap up a busy March, Caressant Care is proud to reflect on Social Workers Week (March 2–8, 2026) – an opportunity to celebrate the compassionate professionals who continue to play such an essential role in supporting the well-being of our residents, families, and care teams.
Through our valued partnership with AgeWise, our homes are supported by dedicated social workers who bring empathy, expertise, and a deep commitment to person-centred care. This year’s theme, “When care and insight come together, change happens,” beautifully reflects the impact they have each and every day.
Social workers are at the heart of holistic care. They provide emotional support, help residents and families navigate complex transitions, and advocate for needs that extend beyond medical care. Their work is grounded in understanding each resident’s unique story – their experiences, relationships, and the social factors that shape their well-being.
At Caressant Care, our social workers help foster meaningful connections. Whether supporting a resident through a life transition, facilitating conversations with families, or collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, their approach continues to be rooted in compassion and respect.
Social workers represent the largest group of mental health professionals in Ontario and across Canada, and their role has never been more important. Their ability to combine evidence-based practice with genuine human connection helps create environments where residents feel heard, supported, and empowered.
To our social workers: thank you for being a vital part of our care ecosystems. Your insight, and dedication help shape the supportive, inclusive, and compassionate communities we are so proud of at Caressant Care.
As we continue into the spring season, we carry forward that same spirit of connection and care – knowing that meaningful change truly happens when we work together.
