Residents at Caressant Care Lindsay enjoyed farm-centric programming throughout July, with the highlight being a visit to a local farm. Everyone had the chance to meet the goats and donkeys and offer treats to the horses, and there were plenty of smiles on a beautiful summer day surrounded by nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Cobden, residents packed up for a picnic in Cobden Park. Katie and friends provided the entertainment, Bonnechere Bakery supplied the sandwiches, and Joanne’s homemade cookies rounded out the afternoon. Our Woodstock home fired up the barbecue for a pig roast, which drew a good crowd and no shortage of second helpings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Music, Cars and Community Spirit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s been especially busy in Cobden! Residents were treated to an incredible performance from the Renfrew Highland Drum and Pipe Band, and the Cobden Civitan Club stopped by for a visit along with a very generous donation. We are grateful to both groups for the support they continue to show our residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Arthur, our annual Classic Car Show returned with beautiful weather and more than 20 classic vehicles on display. Residents, families, team members and individuals within the community spent the afternoon talking cars and sharing memories. A special thank you goes to Jim Walton and his family, whose hard work has made this event happen year after year, rain or shine. We would also like to thank our student volunteers and everyone who brought a vehicle out to show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New Spaces and New Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our Maples home unveiled a new covered patio built specifically for our residents. The all-weather space offers shelter from both sun and rain, with comfortable seating and smooth pathways for easy mobility. It has already become a favourite spot for family visits and quiet afternoons in the fresh air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We also celebrated the launch of the new MealSuite electronic ordering system across our homes! In Arthur, Resident Council President Mary W. had the honour of cutting the ribbon and welcoming everyone to a grand re-opening of our dining areas! Thank you to everyone who helped make the launch such a success across the province!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking Ahead to September<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty to look forward to. Caressant Care Listowel is hosting its annual fair on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 710 Reserve Ave. The event is free and open to everyone, with live music, games, face painting, raffles and food. We would love to see you there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are also looking ahead to LTC Community Engagement Day<\/strong> on September 18, an opportunity to open our doors a little wider and connect with the communities that surround our homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thank you to our team members, volunteers and families, who put so much into making this summer meaningful for our residents.
