This summer, our Caressant Care homes have been full of activity and smiles. From Canada Day events to barbecues, crafts, and movie nights – residents, volunteers, and team members have enjoyed spending time together and making the most of the warm weather.
Here is a look at some of the moments that made this season special across our homes.
At Caressant Care Harriston, Canada Day was marked with a cheerful strawberry social. Residents enjoyed freshly picked local strawberries, cake, and whipped cream, accompanied by live accordion music that added to the festive atmosphere!
At Caressant Care Cobden, Canada Day included a visit from mascot Mussie from Muskrat Lake and a parade of local children through the home. Prizes were awarded for the best-decorated walkers, showcasing creativity and festive flair. In addition to the Canada Day festivities, residents built their own Lego creations and enjoyed a lively bingo game hosted by a resident’s grandson!
At Caressant Care Bonnie Place, residents enjoyed a movie night in the Blue Lounge to escape the summer heat. Popcorn and ice cream were served while everyone enjoyed the film together. Earlier in the season, residents spent the afternoon with one of our volunteers, who taught them how to make homemade chocolate peanut butter cups. It was a delicious and enjoyable experience for everyone!
At Caressant Care Maples, Father’s Day was a memorable occasion. The home held a social celebration, capturing photos of residents enjoying the day together!
At Caressant Care on Mary Bucke, residents were treated to a candlelight dinner. The meal included three courses, silverware, cloth napkins, and flickering candlelight on every table! The experience was made possible by our amazing and dedicated Dietary team.
Summer at Caressant Care is about enjoying the little things like good food, music, laughter, and time with others. Each home has created simple, meaningful experiences that brought people together. We’re looking forward to even more ways to enjoy the season in the weeks ahead!
